Still The One: A Small Town Friends to Lovers Romance by Carrie Elks
5 Heart Ripping, Bittersweet, Romantic Stars!
I was given this book in turn for an honest review.
When Tanner and Van see each other for the first time in ten years, that pull is still there, that connection has not faded. Can they work through their past and forgive their mistakes, or will one haunting lie tear them apart for good?
Carrie Elks surprised me again and again with this story, in all the best ways! I was captivated from start to finish, intrigued by both Tanner and Van, and the history they shared. I could feel my heart filling with love the more I got to know them and saw their love blossom, I also felt my heart aching with the past they had both shared, with knowing they had missed out on so many wonderful years together because of those silly choices we sometimes make.
This story gives us hope of not only having our own happy ending, but, also learning to forgive those past mistakes of our own and others, so that we can move forward and live the best life with all the right people and most importantly, be happy. It reminds us, that things are not always as they seem, and we do not always truly know what someone is hiding and fighting, and why they make the choices they do.
I love both Tanner and Van, I love the whole Hartson Family, their love and care for each other and those they class as family is the sweetest. You do not have to be blood, to be a member of the Hartson family.
If you love second chance romances, and characters who grow, who see they made mistakes, you will love Still the One by Carrie Elks.
Although this is book #2 in the Heartbreak Brothers series, it can be read as a standalone. However, to fully enjoy this series, I recommend reading them in order.
