I was given this book in turn for an honest review.
Dean and Adeline can feel their pull to each other, instantly. Adeline has reservations on their relationship given her medical history; Dean on the other hand knows she is the woman for him and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Compromise and understanding is key; will a conference trip for Adeline’s work leave devastating consequences?
Susan Stoker thinks outside the box and I love it! Her characters always have a uniqueness about them that you find yourself admiring. They are never seeking sympathy, they just want acceptance and to be treated no different than anyone else.
I was in love with Dean ‘Crash’ almost instantly. He was understanding and compassionate and at the same he wasn’t condescending with it. He truly just cared and wanted to help and support. He was loyal to his job and his team and this only added to my admiration for him.
Adeline cracked me up with her humour and sarcasm. She was strong, independent and clever. As much as I loved her character I also had one thing that niggled me and that was how at times she slipped back and was unable to see that Dean and his team were different to many around her and they did only want her safe, with this said it was only a small niggle and did not reflect on the admiration and love I have for her character.
Dean and Adeline were clearly so perfect for each other from the beginning and the love and happiness that gave to each other was both magical and beautiful. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing two people shine and shout about the love they have for each other, without a care for the thoughts of those around them. When their story takes a turn, you don’t fully expect the impact until it’s happening and in true Susan Stoker style she adds a little twist or three that has you waiting with bated breath and begging they get the happy ever after they deserve.
Another fabulous addition to the Badge of Honor series and a perfect read for contemporary, suspense, romance readers.
