I was given this book in turn for an honest review.
Hollywood and his Delta Force team will stop at nothing to protect Kassie and her family. Will their plan work or is someone lying in wait to foil everything?
Rescuing Kassie is another excellent book from Susan Stoker and the Delta Force Heroes series. I was absorbed into the story from page one and intrigued to know how things were going to pan out for Kassie and Hollywood. It never tires reading Susan Stoker’s words and style. She always has a fascinating take on things and adds that little something different to each of her stories.
I fell for Hollywood early on. He had outgrown his wayward ways with women and had learned that his looks didn’t always bring him happiness and real reciprocated feelings from the opposite sex. He had grown to be a strong, male who would protect not only those he loved but those who needed help, who were in a dire/dangerous situation.
Kassie was funny, bright and strong. She appears to be a little weak, but deep down that weakness is her strength to protect those she loves. Her decisions were not always the best ones, however that was in fact her strength and protective nature acting on instinct rather than rationality.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed this story, I also didn’t find it impacted on me as much as previous stories of Susan Stoker’s and that is why I haven’t rated this as 5 stars. However, it does not take away from the great writing, great storyline and delivery of the story. I also feel that although this may not have been 5 stars, for me, Hollywood’s character did have a significant impact on me and I think he may also have knocked a few of Stoker’s other men off the top spot! *wink*
If you love romance suspense and military books, then the Delta Force series is for you. Although this book can be read as a standalone, to fully appreciate this book and the series, I recommend reading them in order starting with book #1 Rescuing Rayne.
