5 Beautiful, Soul Binding Stars!!!
I was given this book in turn for an honest review.
When Lucas returns to his home town on extended leave, he finds himself becoming infatuated with Ember. When Ember’s past resurfaces, and Lucas finds his leave is nearly over, will their time be up?
Carrie Elks has written a truly captivating story, that has the heart aching for the pain her characters have endured, then slowly, Carrie mends our hearts with this beautiful romance of two broken souls.
Lucas came across as a little regimental in his ways, although very dedicated to being a firefighter, it was also clear how much that career had taken over his life. With this said, I felt he was a man looking for that person in his life that would accept his career, and stand by him, when he needed them most. He’d also began to see he had left his friends behind and was enjoying his time rekindling their past adventures when he was on leave.
Ember was a ray of sunshine, wherever she went. She rarely said a bad word against anyone, even when they’d trampled all over her heart. Her enthusiasm for life, and determination to leave behind her past was remarkable. She was shy, and yet found strength to put herself out there. I really loved her character and I also liked her friends too.
I was sad when this story was over, I didn’t want their story to end, I was that absorbed in Lucas and Ember’s story. If you enjoy contemporary romances, this story is a definite read, you will not be disappointed!
